1 Purpose
These terms and conditions of sale (T&Cs) govern the services offered by CazBlueBirds: transfers, guided tours, hiking & trail shuttles, and chauffeur-driven vehicle hire (private hire). Any booking implies unreserved acceptance of these T&Cs.
2 Services & vehicles
CazBlueBirds provides passenger transport with an English-speaking driver-guide, in private vehicles (never shared):
- Sedan — up to 4 passengers.
- 9-seater Van — 5 to 8 passengers (driver included).
Beyond 8 passengers, the service may be provided with the help of partner drivers (see article 14).
3 Prices
The prices shown are in euros, all taxes included, and are daytime rates:
- Tours — full day: Sedan 395 € / Van 460 €. Half day (Maïdo & Salazie, 4 to 5 h): Sedan 290 € / Van 320 €.
- Transfers — according to the fare chart by zone, available on the Transfers page.
- Private hire (availability) — Sedan €50/hr, Van €60/hr, minimum duration 1 hr. The journey is added to the availability on an adjusted basis; only the quote is binding.
- Hiking & trail shuttle — on quote, according to the route (luggage included).
Site admissions and meals are not included (see article 15).
4 Night, Sunday & public holiday surcharge
A surcharge applies at night (7 pm to 6 am), as well as on Sundays and public holidays: +€20 on transfers, and 20% on availability (private hire) services, in which case it is stated in the quote.
5 Booking & deposit
For tours and private hire, a 30% deposit of the service price is required to confirm the booking. The booking is only firm once this deposit is received.
6 Payment of the balance
The balance is paid on the day of the service. Accepted payment methods: bank card (including contactless), cash, bank transfer or payment link.
7 Cancellation by the customer
In the event of cancellation by the customer (tours and private hire):
- More than 48 h before departure: free cancellation, refund of the deposit.
- Between 24 h and 48 h before: 30% of the amount retained.
- Less than 24 h before: 100% of the amount retained.
Transfers follow the conditions of the booking platform.
8 Cancellation by us
If we have to cancel for a reason beyond the customer’s control (severely degraded weather, impassable road, vehicle breakdown, unwell driver…), we undertake to:
- offer to reschedule the service where possible, or
- steer you toward another equivalent tour, or
- steer you toward a trusted partner from our network, or
- refund in full all sums paid.
9 Customer lateness
A 30-minute grace period is allowed beyond the agreed pick-up time. After that, waiting time is charged at €50 per hour in a Sedan, €60 per hour in a Van.
If, beyond this grace period, the customer remains unreachable (no answer, no way to contact them) while the driver is present on site, the driver may leave; the service is then deemed due.
10 Waiting time
For availability services and hiking shuttles, a 30-minute grace period is given beyond the agreed time; after that, waiting is charged at €50 per hour in a Sedan, €60 per hour in a Van.
11 Luggage
The number and type of luggage must be communicated in advance, so we can match the vehicle. Any bulky or unusual item not declared (surfboard, cumbersome gear, sports equipment…) may be charged as an extra, or even refused if it cannot be carried safely.
12 Conduct on board
Our drivers undertake to be courteous, polite and discreet; we expect the same attitude from our customers. Please do not eat in the vehicle and leave no litter. Illegal substances and any dangerous behaviour or conduct damaging to the vehicle are also prohibited on board. The driver reserves the right to stop the service in the event of a serious breach.
13 Weather conditions (tours)
The weather on Reunion Island can change quickly. For tours, a check is made the day before. If conditions or the state of the road make the planned itinerary too risky or impassable, we let you know. We then offer to reschedule where possible, or another suitable service, in consultation with the customer.
14 Partner drivers
For groups of more than 8 people, or if we cannot be available on the planned day, we call on trusted partner drivers from our network, in order to deliver your service to the same standard of quality.
15 Services not included
Unless otherwise stated, our prices do not include: site admissions (museums, gardens, paying sites — set by the establishments, indicative and subject to change) and meals.
16 Liability & insurance
CazBlueBirds holds professional liability insurance with Groupama — Multirisque Accomplir policy No. 207530730004. Our vehicles are insured for passenger transport. Our liability cannot be engaged in the event of delay or inability to perform resulting from a case of force majeure (weather conditions, road closure, strike, unforeseeable event…). The customer remains responsible for personal belongings left on board.
17 Personal data
The information collected when booking is used solely to perform the service and manage the customer relationship. To find out more, see our privacy policy.
18 Applicable law & disputes
These T&Cs are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the customer first contacts CazBlueBirds to seek an amicable solution. Failing that, and in accordance with articles L.611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, they may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer ombudsman for the business; their contact details are provided on request. The competent courts are those of the Saint-Denis, Reunion Island jurisdiction.
