The tour

The greenest cirque on the island

Salazie is the tropical exuberance of Reunion Island: a cirque brimming with water and greenery, carpeted with waterfalls, dominated by the Piton d’Anchaing and the Gros Morne. At its heart, the village of Hell-Bourg with its Creole houses, listed among the most beautiful villages in France. In the afternoon, we head down to Sainte-Suzanne, cradle of Reunion vanilla.

Half-day option — 4 to 5 h · Sedan 290 € / Van 320 €

The essentials of the cirque in one morning: waterfalls, the Voile de la Mariée, Mare à Poule d’Eau, a viewpoint and Hell-Bourg, then the return. Pick-up only in the North and East of Reunion Island.

Depending on the weather and light, your driver-guide picks the finest viewpoint of the moment, facing the Piton d’Anchaing — the iconic peak rising in the centre of the cirque — and the Gros Morne. A breathtaking panorama over the ramparts.

Return to your accommodation

A relaxed return in the late afternoon, after a day in the heart of the most lush of the cirques.

The morning, the finest light

Salazie is the wettest of the cirques: mist can roll in during the afternoon. The morning often offers the clearest sky and the finest light over the waterfalls and Hell-Bourg — a good reason to leave early.

On a cruise or a port call?

We adjust the itinerary and stops according to your latest return time to the ship and the traffic: depending on conditions, some visits may be shortened or replaced so you can re-board on time. The trip to Salazie stays reasonable: you have time to enjoy it, restaurant or picnic, as you prefer.
