CazBlueBirds is the story of a family that fell in love with Reunion Island and takes pleasure in sharing it, safely and with a warm welcome.
Alexis Rouyer
After 22 years in the Gendarmerie — notably as a diver and boat pilot — I chose to change careers to fully live my passion: Reunion Island. Whether on land or at sea, the island holds few secrets from me anymore.
A runner and hiker, I’m a finisher of the 2019 Grand Raid, the legendary Diagonale des Fous. That knowledge of the terrain I now put at our visitors’ service, to let them experience the island differently — at the right pace, in the right places, safely.

An adventure shared by many
Alexis Rouyer
Former gendarme — diver and boat pilot —, finisher of the 2019 Grand Raid, passionate about hiking and trail running. He knows the island on land as well as at sea. Welcome in French and English.
Christiane Phan
Alexis’s wife, a native Vietnamese speaker. With a background in sales and international trade and experience as an English teacher, she also drives for CazBlueBirds and welcomes our international visitors.
Adam Rouyer
Their son, an athlete specialising in running, he’s now turning to trail running to bring a fresh new touch to the adventure. He studies Chinese and joins the tours in his free time.

Protecting whales & cetaceans
Every year, mainly from July to September, Alexis takes part in occasional missions to protect the whales and cetaceans of Reunion Island.
A commitment born of his former career: he helped put in place the prefectoral decree governing the protection of these animals. A cause very close to his heart.
